Kent uses a typing tutor platform called All The Right Type, sometimes abbreviated as ATRT.

Signing In for Students

Students can sign in to ATRT by clicking the Kent-Students bookmarks folder in the upper-left corner of their chrome browser, then clicking the ATRT Online bookmark.

Their username is the first part of their email address, without the "@kentfieldschools.org" part. For example, a student with the email address 28andrewk@kentfieldschools.org would use 28andrewk as their username. Their password should be the same password they use to sign in to other platforms.

Signing in on a personal device at home

Students can access ATRT at home on a personal device by going to www.alltherighttype.com. They will need to click the Login button at the top of the page and choose School, and then they will need to enter our School Code before entering their username and password. Our school code is:

usaca1223

Beginning Typing Lessons

When students first sign in, they should click the Start Typing Test button at the top of the page:

Note: The tests and lessons include audio instructions. Students should either mute their chromebooks or connect their headphones before starting the lessons.

Students will be prompted to select a 1 minute, 3 minute, or 5 minute timed typing test, which will evaluate their initial typing speed. At the end of the test they can choose to take the test again, or they can click Progress to Lessons to return to their home screen.

Once they are back on the home screen, students can click the purple Play button next to the first lesson to begin the typing lessons.

From here ATRT will provide the student with self-guided typing lessons, along with opportunities for practice and progress testing as they move through the lessons.

There is also a button for Games on the ATRT Home screen; these are typing practice games which you could assign students as a break, or as an incentive for reaching milestones during class.
